Day Care Sex Abuse Hysteria

John Stossel investigates the case of the Amirault family and Fells Acres Daycare. These people were accused and falsely convicted of sexually abusing the children in their care. Gerald Amirault was only released from prison after serving 18 years on this false convinction.

The convictions were upheld after review by state and federal appellate courts....in Amirault, the majority of the female children who testified had some relevant physical findings, as did several female children involved in the investigation....

How you could be convicted in a 17th century witch trial:

"Spectral evidence" (something only the witness could see)----

Judge to 5 year old witness: "Look at the Accused in the dock--do you see anything unusual?"

Child Witness: "yes sir! I see the Devil standing right next to her!!"

Leading questions:

Judge: "So, when did you first become a worshipper of Satan?"

And they also had their "experts":

"I examined the Accused, and she has a mole on her back. It's the Devil's mark!!"

@stopritualabuse . The Amiraults were kept in prison long after their innocence was established. Coakley and Harshbarger made their political careers on this.
