I am doing the "Son-Rise Program" therapy method to treat my daughter's autism and invite her into "our world".
This is an unusual evening session (the last session usually ends at 5:30pm). It's viewable via infrared illumination by our new playroom camera. Anna does bedtime activities like reading and cuddling in bed interspersed with dancing and jumping with me (Barb, her mom). She sometimes stops what she's doing to cross her legs and tell me to repeat what she says, which is what happens when her inflammatory bowel condition "acts up" and she appears to have painful cramps.
In this segment I am mostly working on: (1) having her add prepositional phrases to her comments and (2) flexibility, such as requesting she let me have a turn reading the book, or asking her to repeat what I say instead of always the other way around.
This segment was recorded near the beginning of our session, which is part of the reason it was so interactive. Most of her more autistic moments took the form of repetitive and rigid "games", such as "copy me", "can you say that?", "I ask questions, you respond".
