The X5 is a more solid car... its much heavier and safer... and has a much less chance of flipping over... if it was light weight & shitty liek sa porche cayenne.. it would probably be just as fast... and plus.. the porche interior is all small and shit... you feel crammed in a cayanne.. x5 is much more comfortable.. how do i no this? i have had an 06 cayanne turbo & i now have a 08 X5 4.8 .. i much rather prefer the X5 4.8 over a cayanne any day..

both designed for ass holes and should be taken of the roads

there is no 4.8, the cayenne S is the 4.8, it has no turbos
all the V8's in this model range are 4.8, the S is regular, GTS is sportier, than theres turbo and turbo S
and BMW doesn't have a 4.8, they just have trouble writing numbers, for instance the 5.0 has a 4.2 turbo

40L / 100km
No thanks.

@mrfinancial I'm talking about the cars in video, I'm the driver. I did test them back to back, same track, same conditions... Porsche holds the line much better, X5 took same corner at the same speed and went out on grass. On the road, difference is minor, on the track the Porsche wins, hands down.

its really nice to compare these cars on road, but what about terrain? I know, its not what these cars are built for,but still they are SUV, so they should be universal.. just my opinion

ani jedno !!!! land rover je best
-

@oldirtybastard213 not true i have the 2002 x5 4.4i and it has very little body roll to be honest
-
@shawnlocke i always drive my dads E53 x5 4.4 and it turns heads..i did hid foglights and low beam lights, led interior and license plate light, blacked out grille...and more to come
the comparison should be:
BMW X5 3.0 vs Cayenne V6
BMW X5 4.8i vs Cayenne 4.8 V8
BMW X5 5.0 (forthcoming) vs Cayenne S
The X5 4.8i in it's current form technologically and fundamentally bests the 4.8 Porsche non-turbo in my view.

Yes, maybe, but that's still only about the engine. The main difference is in the way both cars drive. BMW is really good (for big SUV, at least), but Porsche just destroys it in the corners. It's way, way better. Trust me on this: on any b-road, the Cayenne will leave X5 in dust.
