In the wild, Blue Head Pionus live in Costa Rica, other parts South America. US has law one can only get parrots from captive bred "domestic" parents. Raja came to us from Arizona after several generations of US bred birds. The band on his leg does not harm him, shows that he is from proper source. Each baby parrot gets a leg band with a number on it. We could take it off and save it in his records but if questioned by a vet or other official, we need to show that he is from a US breeder.
Are these birds good pets for first time bird owners and how much do they cost.
