Remix of Steve's Topsy video. I loved this song as a kid. I think it was one of the first 45s I ever bought. Cozy Cole was a heck of a drummer and Steve did such a great job I had to put them together. The video and still media used to create this video was by permission of STEVERABB (youtube), DRUMMERWOLD.COM, and MORESCO63 (youtube)

  • I tried to find a clean recording of Topsy Part two and came up with this. It sucks.

  • @Byear1948 - It is what it is - Done for a Facebook Friend - Sorry you didn't see the value of that and the time I put into producing it. As they say it's hard to please everyone!

  • @Hamaround I actually think its a very good recording. This is what I remember it being. thanks for posting!

  • I'm not a drummer -past or present but I am turning 68 this month and really appreciate seeing Cozy Cole perform (whatever-whenever) like all my buddies back then we would crank up whatever radio we had access to (brother's 55 chev) and blast it out. Never saw em but knew them . Cozy-Johnny&hurricanes- Virtues-Rocket teens- ok list is endless. I would throw in little stevie wonder but he hit the Sullivan show haha.. Ok my point is ....Thanks for the footage I loved it.

  • Cozy played Leedy drums for a long time

  • @Byear1948 You can find the orginal version on "spotify"

  • @Halo101st Accomplished - Not so much! But I did learn enough to fool the lounge crowds, of course most were drunk or just trying to hook up so they paid little attention to what I was doing. Thanks for your comments and visiting Hammond Lounge.

  • @Hamaround We must be the same age, around 68. Nice to talk with someone my own age for a change. I now teach International Finance and Economic Theory at university. My classes are, at least, sentient beings. It is a second profession as I retired early.

I am not as accomplished as you, musically, and only played with some local R&R groups in high school and with a group of fraternity brothers in college. Yes, it was fun. Met many girls, too.

  • @Halo101st - I too played drums from the time I was four years old and remember Topsy part II when it hit the charts in the late 50s. Played drums and organ in lounges for years and then went on to DJ playing oldies. Now that I'm retired I have a lot of spare time on my hands and spend most of it doing things like this video. I know it's not perfect but it took many hours and was a lot of fun!

  • @Hamaround I see what you mean, and you did a good job with what you had to work with. I was only making a comment because, as a former percussionist myself, I could not make it work - sound and video - as one. Thanks for the explanation.
