2008 Impala Super Sport @ 140 mph

This is my mother's 2008 Impala Super Sport with a pegged speedo! Manufaturers claim the SS to run a top speed of 154 mph, however, with the stretch of road we had to deal with and traffic ahead, we had to hold back some.

@BetoElBrownPrider I don't exactly how fast the car was going when it was totaled. I wasn't there when it happened but I've heard that they weren't going very fast (around 40mph). It happened during a thunderstorm and a large truck lost control and side-swiped them.

im bout to by me a impala ss too....so im guessin if its goin 140 it does have a speed limiter

@suffolkvaboi It does have a speed limiter because it's drag limited to 154 mph (manufacturer's claim). But it will run just as fast as the one in this video did right out of the factory, as far as I know.

@JohnNumberThree Did you have the governor removed from that vehicle? Because all cars in the US since about 2004 have governors on them up to about 115 to 120.
