  • The Akritas plan was based on the right of self-determination and in this case the re-unification of Cyprus with Greece. The turkish cypriots, which were a minority of 12%, would have all MINORITY RIGHTS: And these points of the plan went against the grain of Turks, as well as for the English and American interests.

  • That is why the turkish invasion of 1974 had the blessings of the great powers. And that is how the turks managed to occupy 37% of the island and to import over 120.000 settlers from Turkey to the area.

  • "Naturally Turkey has strategic interests in Cyprus. It is fortunate that the Turkish Cypriot community exists here. Even if the Turkish Cypriot community did not exist, Turkey would not have left Cyprus to Greece."

    Turkish occupation representative Rauf Denktash, 23 July 1985

  • Excerpts of the Akritas Plan:

    (iii) That the revision of the agreements constitutes a compelling necessity for survival, and not an effort of the Greeks to repudiate their signature; (iv) That the co-existence of the two communities is possible, and (v) That the strong element on which foreign states ought to rely is the Greek majority and not the Turkish Cypriots

  • (i) The Greek efforts are directed towards removing unreasonable and unfair provisions of administration and not to oppress the Turkish Cypriots;

    (ii) The removal of these oppressive provisions must take place now because tomorrow it will be too late;

    (iii) The removal of these provisions, despite the fact that this is reasonable and necessary, because of the unreasonable attitude of the Turks is not possible bv agreement, and therefore unilateral action is justified;

  • (iv) The issue of revision is an internal affair of the Cypriots and does not give the right of military or other intervention;

    (v) The proposed amendments are reasonable, just, and safeguard the reasonable rights of the minority.

    "Such a reason could be an immediate declaration of Enosis before stages (a) - (c) or serious inter-communal violence which would be presented as massacres of the Turks."

  • It was Denktash and his TMT agents who placed the bodies in the bathtub and who commanded the photographer Ahmet Baran to take pictures and to distribute them claiming that the Greeks killed the family. The same photographer who took these pictures confessed that the story was faked and that the aim was to convince the world that the Greeks commit genocide against the turkish cypriots.

  • @OrphicHymn u Greeks can never own up to what u have done killing inoccent children in such a brutal way, and now you blame Turks for doing this u lot are jokers man i cant belive you can claim such a thing. U did commit genocide there are many grves with whole villages of Turks found shot and buried in pits, oh but I suppose the Turks done that as well yeah.

  • not biased my arse! If Israel could have come to the aid of the Jews in Nazi Germany, would the Jews have been critisised for not wanting to live with the Germans again? It might be an official report but its a one sided story, and until BOTH side can aknowledge the problems of the past, and desire to move forward. South cyprus seems to want to dwell on their hardship, feeling bruised and sorry for itself. Wake up and shut up

  • @skylofts : Since 1963 the Turks started destroying monasteries and killing the monks. One of the monasteries is "Panayia Galaktoforousa" in Kornos, Nicosia. The Turks there killed 2 monks. One of them was just 14 YEARS OLD. Then they burned the monastery and chopped the icons. The prior of the monastery survived. If you visit the monastery today you will see those icons. So stop telling me that Greeks were the only ones who did bad thinks. Im just wondering who really started doing these things

  • Everyone, both Turkish and Greek talk shit and blame the people on both ends for things that have happened. Nobody has ever blamed the zionists that are behind it all. When the fuck is everyone going to wake up when it comes to that?

  • You gotta be kidding me

    Watch Lost Bus of Cyprus and try come up with some bullshit for that too.

    What does it matter if the murderers are Greek ? Its people like you who saved the EOKA murderers and let them kill innocent.poor people. You are disgrace to not only Greeks but to the whole humanity.

  • fuck off

  • You always made up stories in order to realize your planned crimes and you always made up stories in order to justify them afterwards. This was true as well as before the invasion of 1974 as also after. Stories like the "Children in the bathtub". Its story? the family was killed by their OWN father, Nihat Ilhan (not a turkish-cypriot) in a stage of amok, he slayed his wife and three children in his house in the center of Leukosia.
