This was Sankofa in the recording studio, December 2007, at the RBF Studios at the SABC, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our engineer was Darryl Torr, with assistant. This particular track is called "Ngoryiyi", which in Ewe, one of the traditional/indigenous Ghanaians languages, means loosely translated, "Return, come back, bring honour back to yourselves by returning to your higher destiny as espoused by your great forebears, and their teachings"...unfortunately, even though this recording happened in 2007, the final mix wasn't that well executed, and so our recording journey continues on 2 years later, again at the SABC, this time under the caretakership of Tim Kraft, Bheki Khoza, Mandla Mbangeni and the team at The Academy of Sound Engineering (www.ase.co.za)
Something funny happens right at the end of this video...after all the effort and sweat put into this most hectic and energy-demanding song, guess what, of all things that could happen, happened? hehehe...watch and laugh with us!
