Labiaplasty can be a 1 or 2 sided labia minora reduction, labia majora augmentation/reduction, clitoral hood reduction, labia minora/majora revision, etc. It can be done under local or general anesthesia in an office, surgicenter or hospital. Depending on these factors, procedures begin at about $3000 (low end) and may proceed up to $15,000. However they generally total about $4700 for 2-sided labia minora reduction under local in the office. Clitoral hood reduction may add up to $750

Breast reduction is a commonly accepted medical procedure. Are you saying by your criteria, that women should be denied that procedure too?

Women don't do this for men. Women commonly have breast reductions for similar reasons. The labia are more like the scrotum than the penis. If you had a scrotum that got pinched & twisted whenever you rode a bike or excercise garments, would you have a scrotum reduction if it were safe & allowed you to exercise without pain or discomfort. A male patient once requested a scrotum reduction because they would fall into the toilet water in public bathrooms. Do you want me to tell him to tough luck?

I love that there are men/women out there that love their partners for who they are, but I personally know that how you truly feel about yourself -regardless of how often you're told that you're beautiful- can affect your experience in the bedroom. This is really depressing. Women are supposed to have labia. When did labia become something undesirable? The message here is that women's genitals are supposed to look pre-pubescent -- small and pink instead of the more typical large and brown. Sobering thought. Men's genitals, however, are supposed to look big and mature. Imagine the absurdity of men wanting small penises! So they have penis reduction surgery! Men, does that sound painful? Then why would you encourage a woman to do the same?
