I had a chat with Patti once, she called me after having arrived at Sydney Airport, 'cept she wasn't looking for me, she was looking for Dave Faulkner, who funnily enough was touring in Brazil at the time i think (98) I was house-sitting for him and looking after his V8 Cobra. I should've gone gone and picked her up from the Airport, she would've been stoked to hang out with someone who wouldn't be in awe of her celebrity, only because I didn't know who she was, which Dave was flabergasted by.

don't think so - no way. smith is the best thing ever. both of them are fabulous. no one can do her music better than her. look at how this audience responds to her movements.
i would just love to see her live. horses is one of the best recordings ever produced - down to the cover artwork (maplethorpe baby).
she is a true, blue classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Morrissey fan, but I think his version sounds like bad karaoke, sad to say.

True Morrissey does an excellent cover. You can watch it on you tube . It's on Morrisey Live at Earls Court part 4. He jokingly says this was written by Pat Bennetar or Patty Smith or whoever.
