When Maria's book came out, Henry Alter said, "THIS was a book which HAD to be written." He didn't want her memory sullied but he'd been very disturbed by all the inaccuracies -- many originating with Dietrich. Henry was the one who drove her through destroyed Berlin. She did not cry, she did not want to get out of the car. He had many stories, & his family knew hers in Europe. He had been Paul Henried's personal secretary. Very loyal, he never actually SAID anything. Thank you for this.
