Teachers Federation of Puerto Rico (FMPR) on strike after 30 months of fruitless bargaining with Commonwealth government whose aim is to break the 42,00 member union and privatize public education. FMPR views the struggle as an anti-colonial conflict with US Imperialism pulling the strings. The union is waging an heroic fight with no strike fund.
all school systems should be run by privet businesses . It would save money and only the GOOD teachers would teach our children. At least pay parents who want to home school their own children

It's a solidarity demonstration, in the city with the biggest Puerto Rican population off the island itself. Remember when people would hold demonstrations with the struggle against South African Apartheid. It's like we chanted at the protest "La Lucha Obreras No Tienes Fronteras" The Workers Struggle Has Borders.
