I played Defensive Tackle for Bergenfield (black uniforms), and wore the #72 jersey. During this footage, I was on the sidelines, and ran out onto the field when the melee started.

Was that the last time Bergenfield won a playoff game?

I believe that Bergenfield won the State Championship again the following year (1987 season). After that, it's been downhill ever since. My advice: get rid of the stupid "B" on the side of the helmet, and return to the Bear head/Bear paw. Also, revive the tradition of blasting AC/DC's "Back in Black" before every game!

Bergenfield had a good 2011 season. They had a few really good athletes. They were in every game (except vs Paramus Catholic I believe) and should have made the playoffs.

I have to say I remember hearing about this game(I grew up in Teaneck cool to see the old flick. One thing though. bergenfield hasnt done a thing since 87. secondly , we used to play bergenfield in our junior league in 86 and we whipped their ass. I guess that was the beginning of the tough times in bergenfield. I would love to see teaneck play bergenfield again like they used to in the 70's and early 80's.
