A World War II German Vergeltungswaffe 2 (retaliation weapon 2) or V-2 rocket is transported and erected on its launch site, only to be attacked by Allied fighters and a ground patrol, who eventually succeed in destroying the weapon before it is fully launched.

For more info on the V-2 see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V2_rocket

This is not a WW2-era movie -- this is a dramatised reenactment with a replica V-2 held at an airshow in New Zealand. Enjoy it for what it is.

This full scale V-2 rocket replica built by a team lead by Roger Lauder for the Classic Fighters 2011 airshow. Bear in mind that while the replica features a rudimentary rocket engine, it was never designed to actually 'fly' - this is more stage theatrics (albeit very impressive ones), rather than accurate aeronautical engineering!

  • lame

  • @stratosjoebar Lame it may be, but when did you last go to an airshow and see a full size V-2 rocket with a real (rudimentary) rocket engine? Give the guys who built this thing some credit for a cool job well done.

  • when that rocket hit the ground in London they were going at over 2000 miles per hours. It must have been a terrifying experience.

  • @stratosjoebar Philistine.

  • Well that was a surprise! Quite a convincing set up in all.Though not an exact replica of the trailer it's certainly close enough.I was very impressed with the blasts, that was very well done, not you usual re-enactment explosion!! I bet the crowd was impressed!! Only thing is for the next show you will have to build another rocket!! Well done and keep up the good work!!

  • 今でもアメリカは敵だと言うことですか?

    わが国は早く核武装しないといけません!

  • @karchev23 didnt mean to disrespect, sorry if i did

  • @stratosjoebar I was there on the ground. While im sick of the fighting on the flat pan rugby field sort of thing, that explosion was AWESOME, could feel the heat.

  • Good video not sure where stratosjoe is coming from if you don't like don't watch.

That being said after watching these things take off as soon as it started to launch it would be away and go hitting whatever target was programmed too! It would not go that slow

  • I loved it! Very good job on the V-2 replica. Not perfect, but it must have taken months to prepare. A4V2 Resource Site.

  • Trolled...
