A lovable character created by director Ben Go, Pinto is a stuffed extreme sports action figure who finds himself in dangerous situations while skating, snowboarding or riding his Motocross bike. An all-around cool guy, he also gets a tattoo and makes out with his girlfriend in an X-rated 5-second sting.
The Pinto series was produced in stop-motion animation, a painstaking process that takes about one day for every five seconds of story. It was shot with a digital camera, which enabled the director and photographer to instantly view small sequences. After the success of the first one (made in 2003), the network asked us to produce five more pieces, and thought about producing 20,000 Pinto and Santo dolls somewhere in Asia.
