First of all, there's a difference between socialism and communism and socialism is exactly that; the STATE controlling the means of production and industry and so forth (which is what plenty of the occupiers wanted.) Secondly, socialism DOES produce inequality. The elite class is the government, and everyone else is poor and starving.
