  • This actor is so excellent... He deserves an Oscar indeed.

But, I have to disagree with peoples saying he may be right and humans are nothing more than a Virus. Maybe we bring nothing to a natural equilibrium... But those are humans who acted this scene, who wrote it. A Virus won't question his own existence, they won't fear the consequence of their actions, they won't seek ways to improve themselves.

Human do. The ability to question ourselves certainly makes our kind precious and unique.

  • Even if you were told the truth, you wouldn't accept it. The perfect world was a dream that your primitive cerebrum kept trying to wake up from. This movie is all about psychoanalysis. Smith is the analyst of Neo and he's trying to prevent Neo from knowing the truth. Have you ever realized that the architect from the matrix has a Freud's face ? The beard... This movie is all mental war, it's in the head. But like Jacques Lacan said : "The unconscious is real". (Lacan, R.S.I April '75 lesson)

  • @AmoureuxdeKOSMOS Ah, but consider that a virus is a very primitive form of life, while a human is a complex form. It would not be direct equivalency we're looking for, but rather a fundamental similarity. Humans and viruses seem to have the same basic natures and goals.

Of course, humans ARE mammals, but it's an interesting comparison.

  • Awesome scenes. One of my most favorite parts is when Agent Smith reveals his own loathing for the Matrix. Up to that point in the movie there is no indication of this. One could almost say Agent Smith and the heroes share a similar view of the artificial world. They hate the place. They want out.

  • This is by far the best scene in the trilogy.

Smith is by far the best character in the trilogy

Hugo weaving is by far the best actor in the trilogy.

I LOVE THIS SCENE ... MR ANDERSON!!!

  • The "perfect" Matrix was also mentioned by The Architect, so Agent Smith is talking about The Architect's "work of art".

  • A virus is an organism that works together to accomplish a goal. Humans are confused and always at war. I think it's safe to say a virus is more intelligent.

  • @StacyTodd. Actually viruses evolve faster and more efficiently than humans.

  • @damachine79 Woah..now that's heavy.

  • @AmoureuxdeKOSMOS We question ourselves, yet do nothing about it. We are indeed a cancer to this planet, because of our individual needs. We will do anything to gain our dreams, therefore humanity is flawed.

  • @AmoureuxdeKOSMOS

We are a virus which has a brain to think about something but not the will to make those ideas real. (most of the time) Sometimes we invent something to help but after some time we have a proof that our idea was totally wrong and we wrcked this place even more.

So we are just cleverer and more organized virus which will destroy everything we know. (We are yet to proof he is wrong. But we are still behaving like a thinking virus.

  • "A Virus won't question his own existence, they won't fear the consequence of their actions, they won't seek ways to improve themselves.

Human do. The ability to question ourselves certainly makes our kind precious and unique."

Correction needed. Some humans not all seek that.
