As I Lay Dying (Sydney Soundwave Bottle Incident)

As I Lay Dying playing The Sound Of Truth in Sydney at Soundwave Festival. Halfway through the song guitarist Nick Hipa is hit in the head by a glass bottle, resulting in the band walking offstage. Emergency crews would not allow him to continue playing, but the crowd and band was visibly upset. Tim walked back out and announced 'whoever threw that glass bottle and hit Nick in the head should leave right now.'
The band played a headline show in Sydney the following night and Tim said from onstage that the bottle thrower ended up in hospital for his actions, but the band condoned the violent reaction.

No it isn't. Just because a lot of kids like it dosen't mean it aimed at kids. Most of them are on the same labels as the "proper" metal bands. AILD are on Metal Blade, so are Cannibal Corpse.

I know more over 21s that like Metalcore than under 21s.

Kids liking something dosen't automatically make it bad, or mainstream, or anything, it just means kids like them.

The band condoned the violent action? Are you sure you don't mean "condemned"? Big difference. I highly doubt a band like AILD would encourage other people to be violent on their behalf in retaliation for something like this.

My idea of a metal band? Any band who doesn't "pose" as a metal band, labeled as such nonsense as "metalcore" & "deathcore". What the hell is so "heavy metal" about that? @fukuandieyuppieskum I'd like to see you try and play Jordan Mancino's stuff. He's up there in the best metalcore drummers. And you obvioulsy haven't heard their new album because they definitely sound like no other band. They are sliding into deathcore and mix their clean vocals with deathcorey riffs and speed very effectively. Its pretentious pricks like you that need to stop living in the past and get over their whole 'metalcore sucks' act.
