Overall, this is a really nice unit with exceptional range. Its filtering is far more primitive than the 9500ix (which is by far the quietest unit made), as the Redline favors performance. However, its range gain over the 9500ix is substantial. If you do not mind false alerts, this may be a great choice. If you despite false alerts, look at the Escort 9500ix. If you want extreme range + false alert reduction, check the 9500ci (pricey but amazing) or Bel STiR Plus.
@BoysBigToyz You are talking about two totally different updates. Also, the Redline is NOT user-updatable until Live! comes out. Valentine Research charges anywhere from nothing to $300 depending on the unit you have. This is because some updates are simple flash firmware and others are hardware upgrades as major as replacing the entire logic board. I agree their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
If you want to be protected as much as possible, you should have the Escort Redline, the Cheetah C50 for photo cameras, and the Blinder Extreme Laser Jammer and a whole lot of common sense. Costly but worth it. The States need revenue and cops and courts are there to bring it in.
I own both - Valentine now has crappy customer service. Also, if you need an upgrade for the V1, you have to send it in and it is costly, about $200. With most of the Escort products, you just hook it up to the computer and you're done.
agree with you 10,000% Yet still, the Nothing Beats a Valentine 1 in radar detection and usablity with the arrows and bogie counter. Laser Pro Park does jam lasers..and does a good job of it.
I love the porn music

@testify221 Obviously you don't need one if you have an undetectable detector.
