Here are some tests with the Panasonic HDC - SD 707. Recorded and uploaded in 1920x1080 50P Modus. I was using the manual focus and the daylight white balance. All other functions have been set to automatic mode for testing. The Power OIS was active always. For the scenes in the car i mounted and fixed a tripod inside. Combined with the useful Panasonic Power OIS this caused a "videogame alike look" i think :-). The audio channels (Dolby 5.1) are untouched for this video. Please remember: The original quality of this video is much better than on u-tube. this is just a rough impression about the camera.

  • The main question is always: What do you want to do and how do you like to work with a camera. You are the only one who can decide if the cameras specifications and handling fulfills your expectations. As far as i can say now..The Panasonic SD 707 is a powerful tool if you want to make a film without expensive and heavy equipment.

  • Second thoughts:

I can stand even the 1080 quality if transcoding from 720p to FullHD using the LoiLoScope video editing application. But that's not needed. 720p is also good for convenient video editing e.g. with Video deluxe/Video Pro X.

There is something on the 7070 and the TZ10.

  • Greetings from Riehlpark to Baldeney...

However, I hasitated for along time which camcorder to bay for HD.

Then I decided to purchase a DMC-TZ10 for slipping it into a shirt pocket. With a 16GB SDHC card an some charged spare batteries I can stand even a longer holiday trip...

    That's the reason.

I hate to carry a camera around that needs special spaces...
