The irony is that democracy is a scourge. Majority rule is absurd, violent, dangerous, immoral and fundamentally stupid. Just like every other sort of rulership.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with Fiore's videos, but I enjoy watching them. He has an interesting way of getting the point across.

Yeah, WWI ended with a simple majority, then came the depression, and Hitler rose to power declaring a rematch. A simple majority will never suffice. All or nothing, otherwise the other side will just bitch on forever.
Germany was still in France at the end of WWI, that's why they should have beat them back to Berlin then, to officially win.

Well that's dumb.
If you have an issue where opinions split by a fraction of a percent, any choice you make will be undemocratic.
Granted that's a problem with democracy in general, in that is - in fact - mob rule. The only meaningful form of "democracy" is something they had in original America or contemporary middle-east, where people eventually find a compromise between wildly different opinions that satisfy not 51%, but 100% of the people.

If insurance company greed is driving up health ins. costs and making them skimp on benefits, then why don't we see the same condition with car or homeowner's insurance? What factor makes health ins. so expensive? GOVERNMENT.

Do you have amnesia or do you not really know that it was the Democrat party who intituted the requirement of a super mayority when they had control of Congress, under GW Bush? Check your facts before you put out something this foolish!

Such a nonsense, the majority bullying, robbing and coercing the minority. In 100 years from now this will look barbaric beyond imagination. Luckily in science, truth is not found by majority consensus. Truth is just truth, found by clear principles. Gang rape by 51% or 60%, o brother. That some people really expect some good to come from the barrel of the gun of a politicians. All about to go bankrupt in a puff of liberal smoke, leaving a crater of debt.

We are a Republic. not a democracy. But to say modern-day democrats and republicans would represent either is... ironic. Because they actually dont, its just a bucket full of neocons and neocrats bent on the future of the american Empire

@trelane227 The Fed exsist for one reason. To keep the states in check. Not to tell them what to do. No state in this country can go against our constitution when making law.
@gibblets It wasn't a give and gain situation. They refused to debate. They did not want anything to do with healthcare reform no matter how it would be reformed. They had no plan for healthcare and weren't willing to listen to any other plans. Healthcare is an issue that needs to be addressed. You can't simply ignore it, well you can but you'd be neglecting millions of Americans. And if reps repeal healthcare it would add billions to the debt so they'd be contradicting themselves as usual.
