If gold, it's an 85. I have a Stein copy with one in the bridge (no other pu on the guitar).
I also have a Trademark, a TM60, so the sansamp technology is known to me. Planning to buy a TM30 to be stationed at my girlfriend's house.
Thanks for the clip again and congrats on the nice playing! Loved the Larry Carlton story too! :)

It must be a GL4T then. If the logo on the hb is gold, then it's an EMG 85, if silver, it's an EMG 81. But judgeing from the meaty sound my bet it's an 85.
Mighty fine guitar!
Congrats and thanks for posting!

Cool solo!
Cool amp!
Cool guitar! Is it hardtail? S-Trem? Trans-trem? Dual 85's?

Thanks for educating me on the details of the EMG pickups! I've never looked into it. :)
My EMG humbucker is labeled in gold, so that makes it an EMG 81, I guess. A good bit of what you are hearing when you reference the "meaty" sound is my Tech 21 amp. It has a SansAmp built into it, and the SansAmp is incredible at creating sweet sounding tones, IMNSHO.
Thanks for your comments!!

Thanks! The guitar is a 1990 GL2 w/ Trans-Trem. The pickups are two active single coil EMGs in the neck and middle positions, plus an active EMG humbucker in the bridge position.
