Dave asks Leader Pelosi if we are safer than we were after 9/11. Pelosi: "We have to do much more to protect the American people. The 9/11 commission, independent, nonpartisan 9/11 commission, has given the federal government D's and F's in implementing the 9/11 commission recommendations. D's and F's on protecting us. And then we want to eavesdrop outside the law on our citizens. Well, we want all the intelligence we can have to protect the American people, but it would be like my saying to you, "Throw your front door open. Open the windows, and then monitor the phone calls of your neighbors, and see if they have any intention of robbing your house." Lock the doors!"

and oh yes, I agree we're are in far more serious trouble then pre 911. Based soley on our self-imposed war in Iraq, it has provided a powerful recruiting tool to Al-Qaeda and other terrorists in the Middle East. More people hate the US than in any other time in our history. Bush squandared an opportunity of a life time to unite the world against terrorism after 911.
