"Unforgotten" Ch. 18

*With Demi and Nick*
Nick: I'm telling you, there's something suspicious going on.
Demi: Nick, you can't really expect me to believe that Miley is still alive. I mean, I wish she was, but let's face the truth.
Nick: IT IS THE TRUTH!!! *glares at Demi*
Demi: Nick, I-
Nick: Demi, don't. Forget it.
Demi: No, I'm sorr-
Nick: Demi, you don't have to apologize. I should be sorry for yelling at you. It's just...I know in my heart that she's still alive.
Demi: *looks down* Uhm, okay.
Nick: I think I'll sleep in the living room tonight.
Demi: Why? I'm sorry if it's anything I did.
Nick: No, Demz. It's just that I won't be getting much sleep anyways, so I don't want to keep you awake.
Demi: Oh, alright.
Nick: Night.
Demi: Goodnight.

*At about 2 in the morning, the window in Nick's room creaks open and in comes a figure.*
Demi: *half awake* Nick?? Is that you?
????: *whispering* Demi, wake up.
Demi: Huh?
????: It's me Demi.
Demi: Me?? Who's me?
????: Wake up.
*Demi finally opens up her eyes fully and sees Miley standing before her. She is covered in dirt and leaves and looks like she has been sleeping in the streets. She's bone skinny and is covered in cuts and bruises.*
Demi: *gasps*
Miley: *goes and covers Demi's mouth* Hey sweetie. I missed you.
Demi: *tears start to fill her eyes*
Miley: Shhh, don't speak. I'll explain everything. *takes a deep breath* Selena didn't push me off the cliff. I tripped. She tried to save me, but she lost my grasp. It wasn't her fault. As soon as I fell, I thought life was over for me, but fortunately, I landed on a nearby cliff. I rested there for a couple of hours, but soon I heard people wandering around. I couldn't let them find me. I needed to hide. I couldn't let Nick know I was alive. I wanted him to think I was dead. I wanted him to get over me. So I hid. But I can't do this any longer. I'm starving to death, and I need a home. But this is not my home.
Demi: I know Miles. You're home is with your dad, mom, sis-
Miley: *shakes her head* No, Demi. My home is not here in LA. I need to leave. But I need money.
Demi: That's why you came? *She starts to shake* To get money?
Miley: Demi, don't cry.
Demi: *tears start pouring out* Mi, I need you. We all need you. You can't just leave.
Miley: I need Nick to-
Demi: *stands up* NO!! If you really loved Nick, you wouldn't leave!!! *her tears start becoming more violent and she soon becomes furious* This isn't the best for him! He will NEVER get over you!!!
Miley: *tears slowly roll down her cheeks*
Demi: I told him about your tumor. He would rather spend the rest of YOUR life with him, then lose you like this!! Don't you understand?!?!?!
Miley: Demi, I can't.
Demi: YOU CAN AND YOU WILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Nick suddenly bursts in*
Nick: Demi, can you keep it down?!!! I'm trying to-

(Nick and Miley stare face to face. His eyes start to water and he slowly grins, yet he doesn't know what Miley is planning to do)
