St Cross Hospital and first almshouse in UK built in 1132AD by Bishop of Winchester [Henry de Blois - grandson of William the Conqueror] for 13 poorly men and feed villagers daily at the gate. Located beside the River Itchen a mile south of the city centre.

  • Visiting relatives seen in video and taken for a walk outside the Winchester City centre - just love these historic 900yr old buildings
