@ATCKDFND Yea, it does. That might be it.

@ATCKDFND Ok, I believe you. Out of curiosity I stuck a flat magnet on one side of my Byrd Meadowlark 8Cr10MoV same steel as yours. I tried to use the same coin as yours but it was hard to see what it was. I used a Canada 25 cent coin since none of my U.S. change would not stick to a magnet to begin with. The 25 cent coin did not stick to the blade with the magnet behind it. You have a very freakish knife man!

@freecuz I wasn't holding a magnet on the other side, but I guess that's a valid point - I didn't show the other side.
That being said, I have no reason to lie: the fact that it was magnetized didn't change performance in any way.

Maybe he's holding a magnet on the other side of the knife? He doesn't show the other side. Come on guys.
Maybe you're coins are magnetic and not the knife. has that occured to you? :-P

@DonnieCallister It did not. I acknowledge the possibility.
Thank you for pointing out my shortsightedness

That happened to my spyderco byrd cara cara.

@ghettopunx Hmm, perhaps it's the steel.
The Cara Cara uses 8Cr13MoV as well, doesn't it?
It could have magnetic tendencies...

The friction created the magnetism. Did you sharpen the knife not long ago?

@newhuskytwenty I didn't, no.
I never found out what caused the magnetization.
