The Expedition 28 crew photographed this series of time lapse sequences aboard the International Space Station. As the Earth and sky pass through the frame, the sequences capture a number of phenomena, including meteorites, lightning storms, and auroras. Set to the song "Down to Earth," by Peter Gabriel, the video represents the view astronauts have as they return to Earth after departing the ISS.

  • Its a shame NASA videos get less views than videos about the illuminati... What the hell is wrong with the world?

  • Just to think, this isn't a animated video. This video shows the real beauty of the earth.

  • amazing & breathtaking... As a scientist, i would give up so much to just be at that altitude for even a minute... Dreams will remain dreams I guess... Unless commercial space becomes "affordable" (like the price of an expensive car) in my lifetime. Being almost 25, I doubt I will see this happen before I turn an old man...

  • By God, we live on such a beautiful planet!

  • @AVMamfortas I think that's called "lack of a soul" in academic circles.

  • This is the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time. Thank you, NASA. I am proud to be a scientist because without science, this beauty could have never been seen.

  • Amazing!

  • Thank you for this spectacular trip!
