About the video:

The song 'Breakdown' is about suicide and how for some people that seems to be the only way out.The video itself is a 100% true story about a girl who made an extreme attempt on taking her own life and was lucky enough to survive it and became the inspiration for the song itself. When I was writing the lyrics for the second verse of the song It was around 2 o'clock in the morning I was by myself sitting on the hood of my car at a pretty remote overlook of Riverside CA drinking pretty heavy. At that time my life was so out of control,My wife and I were having martial problems, we separated and were not even talking. I was pretty much homeless we were recording a record at Love Juice Labs in riverside and when I wasn't crashing at the studio I would crash in my car because I was so embarrassed to ask my friends for help.I went from having 2 cars and a nice apartment a beautiful wife and 2 young kids, too having nothing pretty much overnight I lost complete control. My pride kept me from fixing my family and the alcohol kept me numb enough to run from my problems. That night on that overlook sitting on the hood of my car I was so hopeless.I had no hope of putting my family back together,no hope of fixing my life,I thought I was gonna be everything I hated, having my kids every other week and putting them thru that.I wrote that second verse actually talking to myself, telling myself that there was hope even when I truly belived there was none.2 months after writing that song my wife of 5 years and I reconciled and moved to Phoenix to start over.I had everything back, everything I was so sure I had lost.We have been married now 8 years, been together for 10 and when I'm not playing music I spend every minute I have with my family the thing that matters most to me now.It took losing everything to figure out what I had was better than anything else in the world.I know everybody has problems, some of you are in more desperate situations than others and every circumstance is different and they all can seem and truly feel hopeless, but I promise you there is always hope even when it is so far out of site. There is always hope.Shooting this video was closure for me.We took something so tragic and were able to tell a story of hope through it.

  • lol I seen the advertisement that everyone is commenting on finally,It does indeed compare us to Lagwagon, although we are influenced by Joey the track ib the "Breakdown"video is far from sounding like Lag.Bad advertisement but its not from EFS at all.We had the label fix it and it now says the Jonas Brothers/butt rock...Seriously.

  • Maybe you should listen to the newer songs

  • It is so easy for all those in this "life" to put down someone or something! These guys "rock"!!!!

They are doing their own "MUSIC" making videos,

Doing the "DAMN THANG" and what are you doing????

Sitting at home . "Yanking your wankers or giving thumbs down to guys who"unlike you "

Have the Balls to go out and make music , take a chance and go for it !

Well, you know where you can put those thumbs????? I do! sit and spin baby they are AWSUME!

  • Facebook reminds me of a bunch of monkeys trying to hump a football. It's no surprise to me that they misrepresented Elven Fifty Seven. But in any case, they do have a lot of other songs that have an edgier sound. Like Mesothelioma. And they are not terrible radio rock, Nickleback is terrible radio rock. This song actually has a message that a great number of people need. Unlike everything else on the radio that's about money, bad relationships, and just all and out Lady Gaga crap.

  • Mike and Guys,

I gotta tell you, you must be doing something right, because the only reason people hate on you like this is because they wish they could be like you and do what you do. ;) But I got a feeling you all already know that. Keep pumping out the tunes, I'll keep buying them.

  • I must agree this track does not sound like lagwagon, although I have checked out their myspace and some of the other tracks do have a Fat Wreck Chords sound. These guys will go places.

  • Lagwagon rules, this sucks shit through a straw so i suppose if I like Propaghandi then I should love the Weakerthens, well i do like both those bands bad example,ok its like saying The Who were awsome Now here is some pete townsend solo have fun

  • Keep making music because you aren't that bad. I mean look at Sugar Ray or some of the other horrible bands that made it. But this isn't anything but generic buttrock

  • uhm.. this is not like lagwagon at all... Lagwagon is fuckin awesome... this is... Ok buttrock? Its not anything like the sickness of Lagwagon.

  • I did the same thing.
