@TheJessicalex I have been on several cruises on the nicest ships and I find cruises to be a subpar experience and a shell of what could be a rich and varied experience if one would travel on their own and learn and experience the local cultures, foods, music and personalities that should be he essence of travel.

@britrob24 You may be right but as someone who has been on several cruises on some of the nicest ships I can tell you that a real vacation is one where you travel the road less traveled and where the local people and culture can be experienced. A sterile environment like a cruise ship is nothing that interests me as it is boring and doesn't give you the experience that one should receive from traveling to far away lands.

Well, I think you're missing a crucial point in the fact that many people are aware of what the ship provides and go mainly to enjoy the amenities offered. If one desired to get the real feel of travel he or she could just fly to the destination and stay for an extended time.
