@JohnVerba So your goal should be to one day be able to get in front of mics that are all turned up to the same level ('cause that happens when you don't have a sound engineer working a board) and, assuming you have monitors, be able to back off the mics or your own volumes enough to recreate that perfect blend. Your mindset is: I'm making the lead sound cooler, so I'm making us, as a team, sound better.

You guys really have these harmonies down. So...you might want to try recording this, at practice, with the singers and just the guitar and a single mic...and work very hard on creating a blend, together, that lets the lead vocal come out strong and has the harmonies come through in a subtle way that's like...the seasoning that flavors the main dish. One thing you learn from years of mixing is that most often, the harmonies aren't there to be "heard," really; they're there to enhance the lead.
