@electeknowizard Thanks for commenting! The pump and fuel bottle is by MSR - it's a Standard Fuel Pump for the MRS WhisperLite and SimmerLite stove. The carbon felt is called Flame Protector made by Oatey - in the plumbing department at hardware stores. Hiram Cook shows what the product packaging looks like on his YT channel video called Source of Carbon Fiber. I hope this helps.

I have been a Trangia stove user for 30 odd years now (Trangia 27), I think this mod' is a superb idea and a must for any Trangia users. I have a cheap and nasty Trangia clone (Highlander) that is half way to having the modification done, just short of carbon felt. I just need to see how to connect the fuel line to the pump assembly.
Looking forward to using it when its all done. Thanks for your videos, they are very inspiring.

@andrewnevitt So pleased to see such a nice comment from an avid Trangia user. I plan to do a video within the week to show how I upgraded the connection to the fuel pump. Really appreciate you watching, thanks!

@nchiker1971 It was a fun mod - "a what if and can it be done". Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!

Does the carbon felt really have a big impact when it comes to fuel efficiency? Does it still burn as hot as well? Are there any other benefits?
BCkayakcamper 9 months ago
@BCkayakcamper With the carbon felt the stove flame from the jets is subdued, not as intense. The stove burns longer for a measured amount of fuel. And you can begin using the stove as soon as it's lit. Thanks for asking, and watching.
