its going from stage 1 to stage 2 injection its normal for a tddi. tdci may be quieter but they are a lot less reliable. boost hoses failing or coming off and injector failure are the main issues. ill stick to tddi's :)

The noise youre hearing is the rattle from the turbo spooling, starts generally at about 2K on these cars.

all the tddi do it its horrible because you get a jerk with it and its worse when its cold this made me sell the car tdci doesnt do it...
