@zoe911101 Hi Zoe, In the Pet store this bird was singing like a canary, that was sitting next to him..I figgured if he can sing like a bird he can surely talk..:)

The pet shop owner confirmed he is a male..

Is the fleshy part on your birds beak brown, or tan? this would make her a female..

Pearl's color is Mauve..

white parakeets are very rare Pearl is very pretty. i used to have a white one with sky blue spots but she passed away.(her name was Jewel)

Answer for Zoe! I have a female and she speaks! It is an urban legend which I believed, myself, for a long time. My parakeet has 4 months! She says 6 words among which three small sentences. She begins to learn three other words. She has only to master them! Rose's parakeet is really a male! His "cire" does not present white around nostrils! ;o) Sorry for my bad english, I speak french!
