This is a short clip of SIfu Brian desir demonstrating wing chun sparring.
The aim is not to knock out the opponent, but to develop good form and reactions.
Filmed during the 2009 end of year seminar.

  • In Amsterdam there is a wing chung gym where they fight wingh chung in real, they only don't break each other of course, but they really punch/kick in the face and on the body like in a real fight. They are very good and most of them are Moroccans and Kurds. They don't make videos to put it on youtube, because the Dutch government might find it illegal as it sometimes might be very merciless and harsh. I'm not sure whether those guys still practice this art as it is 5 years ago since I've seen

  • good stuff guys, seriously... controlled and not breaking each other, thats how you progress

  • i understane that you guys are taking it easy and developing reflexes , but even this should be done against a real non WC opponent believe me i am telling the truth , theyer have been many competent WC guys , who were disillusioned teh hard way , when they found that all their hard chi sao and sparring against other WC men didnt work against a good boxer , kickboxer , because they hadn't trained the correct way peace

  • my brothers ,i would discourage you from posting videos like these under the norm of wing chun sparring cause youl give wing chun a bad rep in the eyes of boxers , kickboxers mma'ers ho are already looking down on wing chun and lve videos like these . I am not saying you guys are bad all i am saying is if you want to promote wing chun as a fighting system in a positive way, then make some good videos of you actualy sparring an opponent of a diffrent full contact art who is not playing your

  • id go to my nearest boxing or kickboxing gym and ask one of the students to fight with me thats real sparring and thats how you learn to apply wing chun , and the hard truth is that in the begiining yes you are going to get your ass kicked , yes you will get hurt but physicly and in your ego , but without real pain , without a real opponent who is intend on getting you on messing up your timing and hitting you full contact and not giving you a bridge or any sort of compliancn youl never gain

  • thats not real sparring , they are basicly giving each other a bridge or a reference point to start from , that turns it into an exercise and is not true sparring . real fightin is from a no contact position against a real moving and actively resisting opponent . They are basicly instilling a false sense of security in themselves. Sparring is sparring not a semi exercise sparry kind of thing. Either you fight or you dont . I a also a wing chun man and if i want to spar

  • best wing chun sparring ive seen on youtub and i search for vids everyday!!!!!! you guys obviously know what your doing and know how to use the wing chun system in its practical application, i would like to say however that in most situations you guys start by touching hands.. this takes out the "closing the gap" aspect, basically you guys arnt dealing with incoming pressures and then reacting because you already hve the pressure from touching, start apart and try to deal with it, much harder!

  • @abcdgeenidee im kurd

  • Sifu Brian is my old master :) I stopped wing chun for now.. but will return very soon :D

    Still practacing daily though :)

  • is this shawn obasi's uncle?
