The second of a two-part explanation of how a scientific theory differs from the uncertain speculation which creationists would like to believe it is. Although this is the final installment to this series, the playlist will also include a sort of epilogue episode which isn't a necessarily 'foundational falsehood' but is still relevant to the topic.

  • @AronRa I feel bad for you man, constantly, having to tell people, "The clip at [time] comes from [blabla]," when you could be using that time to make more awesome videos...by the way, are you doing any major events or conferences that could be up on youtube? I loved your talk in Ireland with Dawkins, and always look for you but never find anything!

  • @grodzilla2 I have had a lot of 'real life' things going on in the last few months. I do intend to make another video series, but I always have other tasks and errands at-hand eating up all my time.

  • @AronRa You say macro-evolution has been observed; can you give an example?

  • @DaToNyOyO See the 11th episode of this series.

  • i can imagine even after the ending "evolution is a fact" montage, you'll still get a creatard responding with "but its just a theory"

  • Fantastic series showcasing the FACT of evolution. Well done! It's astonishing that people can still refute evolution even in the face of such an overwhelming body of evidence. I'm glad there are still champions like you on evolution's side. I've given up arguing about it long ago (too tedious). For me the core of the argument is between "belief" and "what is". I've stopped using the word "believe" in the same context as "science". Scientists do not "believe", they study things that "are".

  • @DaToNyOyO The apple maggot fly is a great example.

  • @LetalisLatrodectus Anything from the "natural world" that isn't bacteria?

  • @SANHEDRIN666 Calling the Earth a closed system is an approximation. In reality it is an open system, in which both mass and energy are transferred to and from the surroundings. However, given the fact that the transfer of mass is very small, we often call the Earth a closed system. This approximation is a very good one for most purposes as the mass transferred makes little difference to the total mass of the Earth.

  • @dramlee01 How can the Earth be a closed system when we get out side energy, heat and light from our sun. We get tide movements from the moons gravity. and thousands of meteorites hitting the earth every year?

  • @DaToNyOyO

The best example i can think of is the Lenski Experiments. Where they put 12 strains of E. coli in growth tubes and took a small portion of it at the start of the day and put it in a new growth tube. They repeated this for more than 20 years.

At a certain time one of the strains evolved the ability to "digest" citric acid, something which e coli cannot do naturally. In the following days this mutant quickly out produced all others. Evolution at its finest.

  • I used that biology textbook last year.

  • I have been a huge fan of this series, and yours, for a while now. I myself would like to talk to some of these creationists you have shown in your video, but of course being a no name college kid I couldn't possibly make that happen.

It upsets me that people so dumb and small minded can find work, no matter what it is, in this bad economy.

Just keep up the good work.

  • 10:23 that's a ucranian singer Ruslana? how did you get over her?

  • Evolution doesn't exist! look at the 1:40 ....why he did not evolve in to a human yet!

  • @fatouche99 You too are missing the point of my question.
