This is a very small and also very quiet air compressor that I made for my Babington waste oil burner. It has a air pressure switch and a air regulator to control the output pressure. When the tank is filled to 8 Bar then the switch turns the compressor of. It will start again when the pressure drops to 3,5 Bar. The air pump was taken from a small refrigerator that was given to me from a guy at work. all the other parts I had lying around in my work shop.
Don't expect to paint cars with this compressor! It is not build to deliver large amounts of air. My burner runs with 2 Bar air pressure and runs 1/2 hour on the full air tank before the compressor switches back on again. It takes 5 minutes to fill the tank back up again. I mounted a solenoid valve and also a one way valve to make sure that when the compressor switches of when it is at 8 bar the air pump itself has no back pressure from the air tank. The pump is not strong enough to start when the pressure is above 8 bar. Once running its no problem any more. I tested it and I stopped at 12 bar! I was afraid that the tank would burst. The little pump had still plenty left!

It's very compact and very silent! you will not hear it run!

  • ESTA MUY BUENO EL COMPRESOR PER DVERIAS EXPLICAR LAS PARTES Y LA FUNCION DE CADA UNO PARA QUE QUEDE MEJOR EL VIDEOY PARA PODER HACERLO IGUAL

    GRACIAS

In English, Dutch or German please. I can't read Spanish.

    regards,

  • like watching paint dry,,

  • @landykid60

I know, but I placed this video for people that want to build such a compressor themselves. So I tried to give as much detail as possible in this video. But hey....thanks for the comment and watching it to the end!

  • Just be very, very careful,... if any condensation forms inside the compressor housing the oil bath inside will become conductive and energise the housing,

To avoid possible electrocution, you MUST use an ELCB.

As an Ambulance Officer, I know this to be a fact.

  • @ozzirt

I never thought about that, and thank you for the warning! I think that by a ELCB you mean a electrical circuit breaker? If thats the case I do have one. They are law over here in Holland. Is there a way to avoid moister from entering the compressor housing?

    Thanks,

    Redkrabby

  • What did you do for lubrication in the pump?

  • @Redkrabby You could use a Dryer/Filter on the air inlet, but knowing these compressors, I think that if you run it at reasonably high pressure for long enough the oil will get hot enough to stop any condensation building up.

Other than that dryers are not really practical unless you have access to a large dryer housing that you can take the desiccant (Silica Gel) out of, and re activate by heating it in a microwave oven.

  • Heyyy.

    Nederlander.
