  • Smith's goal was positively incredible.

  • Congrats to Canada for making it to the finals and recording 4 clean sheets en route. Harsh for the Canadians since they had an excellent tournament.

Congratulations and best of luck to USA, Canada, Panama and Jamaica in Mexico at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup!

  • @Aggromerchant are you retarded?

  • And, of course, fans in the big Canadian cites would rather bang heads with teams from Kansas City and Columbus than teams from their own country. That way every MLS match is like US-Mexico. They deny it, of course, but we're not as stupid as they think we are. Toronto's uniform is a carbon copy of that of the Canuck national team. They have no guts up there, no initiative. They latch on to us when it's in their interest but spend most of their precious time deridubg us. Screw 'em.

  • Perhaps the best way for us to avoid polemics is for Canada to form its own league and let us be. Seriously.

But the MLS owners want the Canuck expansion pay-outs rather than wait for markets to emerge in The Heartland and The South.

Canada should watch it, though; a less friendly USSF president could emerge and banish the Canadian teams with a stroke of the pen.

  • "American born" = A person "born" in the US.

"Immigrant" = Someone born outside the US but now has citizenship.

The bulk of the those who are playing soccer in Canada are either immigrants or the offspring of immigrants. In less than 25 years, half of Canada's population 15 years old and over will be foreign born. As of right now, only 10 players in MLS are Canadian, which is why the league will start allowing Americans to be refered to as "Canadians" so your teams can meet the quotas.

  • @JohnQRandom "American-born Americans". Are there any other kinds of American-born?

The Canadian foreign population AND the Canadian-born kids of a foreign background, as myself, are also registered in soccer, just as the US, man. Both countries are multicultural and both U-17 squads had players of different ethnicities born in the countries that they represent.

  • First, the Canadian MLS teams are an asset. Those of us who remember what is was like just getting a league going in North America are pretty happy to see 20,000+ at every TFC game.

Second, Canada has some talent but MAN do they need to work on their conditioning! They were just dead in the OT.

  • the first goal was brilliant!

  • @JOSHPTY507 Si perdon no habia visto-

  • Now, if the national team could actually score like this.
