those were the days when the Rangers did not televise the home games playoffs or regular season you had to listen to Marv Albert and the Big Whistle Bill Chadwick on WNEW-1130 AM
Those games were unbelievable. Growing up on Leafs Saturday nights and then Dan Kelly on CBS Sunday afternoons. Lots of games from MSG, Chicago Stadium, Metropolitan Sports Centre etc.
@liduck52 yea, notice none of us said that they saw the game because you needed manhattan cable to view garden events! if you lived in a nearby suburb like me, you were shut out! however, the northern part of rockland county was wired since 1969!!
Remember this game very well. For some reason the 11 o'clock news in NY on Ch 4
began at 1130pm. Stemmer scored during their last commercial around 1158.
When they came back from commercial the anchorman Jim Hartz said"Ive got 5 seconds to tell you the Rangers won 3-2".And I remember the weatherman Frank
the only way you saw a home Rangers playoff game was on CBS on a Sun afternoon with Dan Kelly on the call

Hockey would be way better to watch on TV if it were like the old days.... no unsightly advertising on the boards and on the ice.

Rangers GAG line. Really good. Great era for hockey when NYR, CHI, MTL and BOS were the class of the league
