It is in the Astral Sea that the corpses of dead gods lie, left to drift forever. Calliope has come to see one god in particular - Myrkul, the former god of the dead. But what connection does Myrkul have to the Red Wizards of Safiya's Academy? And what does he have to do with the spirit-eater curse of Rashemen?

In this second of three parts, Myrkul speaks with Gann and Safiya, then reveals the history between him and his long-dead former high priest, Akachi the Betrayer.
