should i like this or would thatbe wierd
Sixteen to 19 days after mating the joey (size of a pea and pink in color) crawls from the cloaca to the pouch. This crawling is anywhere from two to 15 minutes. I just happened to check on her when the joey had just entered t he pouch and still wiggling. I have been a breeder for 11 years and have over 50 sugar gliders. I have seen this happen before, but never gotten a movie of it only photos. This joey did go into the pouch, latch on to the nipple and was carried full term.

Right. I opened the pouch to check on her and saw the baby just sitting there on top moving. Normally they lick the area down to keep the joey moist on its travels, but it was all dry and she was just letting the joey do it all by itself. I have seen three more births, but normally the mom takes a bigge part in it.

technically when the glider crawls from the clocoa to the pouch area and scientifically this is termed "born" when they emerge from the pouch it is called out of pouch or oop. I saw this baby make its way up to the pouch and was moving. They are normally the size of a blackeyed pea when born. Sorry the video is not that good - it was taken with a flip camera.
