Abortion is arbitrary control over a human life, not organs.

Libertarians have varying views of this issue. I do not see legalizing abortion as "libertarian" because of fathers' rights.

An unborn child is not a blob of matter over which one parent should have absolute domain, up to and including making the decision of life or death for it.

I would like to add that if you are like me, an atheist who might tend to feel alienated by an endorsement from a religious leader then you may take heart in knowing that Dr. Paul also received a qualified endorsement from George H. Smith, author of "Atheism, The Case Against God."

Unfortunately abortion is an issue that divides libertarians as much as anyone else. The difficulty goes deeper than a bumper-sticker phrase or even a first analysis. An issue that cannot be solved by a supreme court ruling, that decades later has people willing to commit murder or go to jail for other protests may not be susceptible to any political solution. I'm satisfied with Dr. Paul's position of state's rights with regard to what I see as an unsolvable problem.

So much for Ron Paul being a Libertarian. One of the most fundamental rights is to control one's own body and reproduction. No Libertarian would introduce a bill that seeks government control of that right.
