After his first surgery to have 2/3rds of his large intestine removed Nathanial was left with an ileostomy bag. After everything was healed up inside, he went back into the hospital to have it reversed.
He had a rough time of it, but everything healed up just fine. He is now home and doing great. He was in Sick Kids (Toronto) for two weeks - this was taken after one week. He was starting to perk up and easier to smile.
@walboknls A prolapse is when something comes out of place - or falls out. In Nate's case the section of intestine that was looped through his stomach wall kept coming out - it was being pushed out more and more, so the section that was sticking through his skin was getting longer and longer.

@MichelleAnneJeffrey Thank you. I've had an ileostomy for 3 years now due to colitis. I've never heard of a child needing one. Hope he's doing fine now :) I'm not sure when i'll have a reversal cuz i'm so used to having a bag now. but maybe some time in the future.

Hi, I am Nate's mom. He had his bag for only 3 months. The doctors decided to reverse it early do to problems with prolapsing. Nate actually had the ileostomy but in during his second surgery not his first. It was but in due to some complications that arose from his first surgery. If you have any more questions please ask. :-)
