I think what made this band so great was that they were in the middle of a scene where everyone keeps up with what everyone else is doing online and everything comes out the same. So not only were they all really talented they just did their own thing no matter what anyone else did
examples:
-Lead bass parts
-weird metal guitar tone when everyone just wanted to sound "heavy as balls"
-No one would ever be caught doing a part like "bring yer scalpels"
and yet it all worked for them somehow
