Any culture as it progresses and develops integrates and adapts different aspects of other cultures in comes in contact with into their own representation. This has nothing to do with hijacking.

Islamic art and architecture is absolutely beautiful, however, one could question as to whether these styles were hijacked from other cultures and branded as islamic.
