This is Part 2 of a walk-through guided tour attraction from Tokyo Disneyland. Unfortunately this attraction closed in April 2006. No reason was given.

The tour is in Japanese but I can tell you this much: The tour begins in a portrait gallery where the guide shows us portraits of the Disney Heroes. But the Magic Mirror interrupts her and corrects her description. There is a lightning flash and the portraits change to those of the Disney Villains. The Mirror then explains that the new portraits are, in fact, the real Disney Heroes and that they have been misunderstood for years.

A secret door creaks open revealing a dark and winding staircase, which leads down to the dungeons. The Mirror invites us to explore and discover the truth of things for ourselves.

The rest of the attraction seems to be, for the most part, a tour of the Villain's lairs including some very creepy un-Disney moments.

The dragon in this attraction inspired the more elaborate dragon built for the castle in Paris. And this was the only Disney attraction ever to feature characters from the Black Cauldron. The Horned King animatronic is very impressive.

  • well, its a neat idea for a ride, but where were the major disney villains??? all i saw was the horned king! where was malificent? ursula? jafar, the evil queen from snow white? thats only a few of the many great ones they didnt include!! and it puzzles me that they would put out an attraction about the black cauldron (one of the worst disney films in history!)but aladdin and the little mermaid still have no full rides? and what about beauty and the beast???

  • Remember this attraction opened in 1986, before there was a Jafar or an Ursula. The wicked queen and Malificent were included. They were in the first part but the video is kind of dark so its hard to tell. Of course, they weren't fancy AA's like the Horned King.

  • black couldron gets some recognition! shame you cant see most of it. oh yer and wat was the medal all about????

  • They chose a person from the audience to use the magic sword to vanquish the horned king. After the show that person is awarded with a medal.

  • They proberly just have a dragon under the casell now. WELL they did in the one in paris

  • There would be no way toget to it without going on the tour.

  • Was that a real person in side the mirror talking

  • You try to get me anywhere near the fucking Horned King and I will turn right the fuck around

  • The Horned King sounds soooo AWSOME in japanese. if only I understood what he was saying :p

  • I have to admit, I was terrified when I saw this as a kid. I thought my parents tricked me into going into this ride by going inside the Cinderella castle, but it's actually INSIDE the castle lol.

Now after seeing this ride again-as an adult-I am actually very impressed to see such detail, how creepy the voice was in Japanese, and the animatronic was literally AHEAD of its time!

Wish they bring this attraction back!

  • The Black Cauldron! Disney's lost wonder!

  • I remember this. I killed the bone guy that came out. Of course, I was scared as crap, but it was so nice to get a bucket of free caramel popcorn. YUMMMM.

  • @FigmentJedi yeah a black cauldron dark ride would be awesome!

  • I hope they preserved the Horned King and Cauldron in the archive or something

  • How come the "good conquers evil" sign at the end was in English? I mean, the voice recordings on the ride were all in (what I assume to be) Japanese to reflect the fact that this is Disneyland TOKYO, so why not the sign?

  • BURAK KURADURON
