I am an American. It is horrible. There are roads that you can hardley drive on because they will damage your car. It is 2007 and that fountain in the pictures still doesn't work.
It is complete poverty. Sometimes you cannot even get running water for days at a time. Locals keep a bucket of water on hand for these times. You will lose electricy often and for no logical reason. I don't know how there is even tourism in Karpathos because the food is HORRIBLE and they treat tourists like dirt.
