What Hunter does not say is that El Salvador was embroiled in a civil war throughout Reagan's presidency and after it; that thousands of innocent civilians, including babies and children, were killed; that clergy, including Archbishop Romero, were assassinated by right-wing death squads during that time; and that a peace accord was not signed until the 1990s. His claims about Reagan are pure fantasy, and particularly repugnant given the human suffering he ignored.
