It takes some practice to get the timing right. If you don't mind shorter drives, switch your club speed to slow and practice your timing, then switch to medium or high as you become more comfortable with swing speed.

@Sfarcar Compared to Tiger Woods for today's consoles, definitely a harder game.... honestly, not that bad a game, I'm completely out of practice but when I was younger (pre-PS1 days...) I handled this game easily
