Tom Waits - Big Time (4/10)

Big Time is a theatrical concert movie released in 1988, another wonderful Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan collaboration. This is truly a rare treat, he doesn't tour that much any more and this movie is a good way to make you regret missing out on his live acts even more.
At this point of his career he is leaving his early jazz years behind and
develops the roaring vocals around experimentation with various genres and instruments.

This segment features songs Straight to the top (Vegas) and Strange Weather.

tom waits is awesome. i love how everyone is his band is named "johnny", and that disturbing grin he does throughout the whole song. classic

thank god for youtube (and of course Tom Waits). I've been trying to find a lot of his videos everywhere, and I love that I can finally watch the whole thing of the big time on youtube free since I've seen vhs copies going for as high as $100+. I wish they'd re-release all of his concerts on dvd.

Thanks so much for putting this up! A few years back this played at a midnight screening at the coolidge in Boston but I was extremely sick that night and missed it. As a huge waits fan I have been grumpy about that ever since, but at least now I get to see the whole thing, albeit in a much smaller format! Thanks!
