One in eight teachers never reads a whole book to his/her class Primary School class.

It is worrying statistics such as this that have lead former Childrens Laureate Michael Rosen to push for a return to whole book reading. In previous interviews Michael has spoken about the impact of teaching Primary School children using worksheets and extracts, and the resulting effect on their Literacy learning and enjoyment as well as their emotional development.
